"Just spent a week at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. The resort itself was excellent from the staff, the rooms, the activities, and the food selection. The beach is not the best that’s for sure but that is something out of the resorts control. Highly recommend the a la carte restaurants. This resort does not deserve the negative reviews it receives. "We liked the two different adult areas. Our Expedia conceige was Valerie. She was quick to get transportation to and from room. She also expedited two different times when door was locked and not working. She also was able to have ice delivered to our room quickly vs calling the front desk. She was very professional and helped withe dinner reservations. She seemed to go above and beyond to assist us with our needs"

Catalonia is connected to Mayan Adventures, which we used to book a Mayan tour and private snorkeling expeditions that were amazing and off the beaten paths open to the public.
