It was very unique in that our room was literally in the jungle. Walk to pool & beach area was very relaxing & peaceful. Beautiful pool, beach & grounds. Staff was very accommodating & friendly.

I’d give it 3.5 stars for an all inclusive. The rooms were clean and spacious with twice daily service. Bartenders were great as was the entertainment staff, but food and food service varied greatly by restaurant. Hot tubs were not heated and we were told the pool was heated as well, but it was not. Room service food was terrible and incredibly slow, and the breakfast buffet (only breakfast option without privileged upgrade) was mediocre. Still, we had a nice time with some decent meals and the shows at night were fun. Had all the basics needed at an all inclusive like shops, currency exchange, and concierge/activity coordinator. The beach was also kept very clean.

Very safe and quiet. Perfect for a romantic get away. Being from the tri state we are big foodies. Italian Restaurant was not good. Neither was the grill restaurant. The Asian Place was not bad. Didnt attemd the 2 others. Room service food was bad but the burger wasnt too bad definitely wouldve gotten it again. Drinks and Bar are great and easy accesible. Only thing we really did not like was the food. Everyone was raving about it but its just not 5 star quality food at all

My wife and I chose to get married here and Paloma took care of every detail, making our wedding an experience beyond our wildest dreams. All of the guests on the beach cheered for us and made our moment magical. We love this place more than we can describe. The staff goes above and beyond. Our second stay at Catalonia Royal Tulum. We love the beach, staff and overall vibe. Only two suggestions, a beach/bar snack concession available all day and some lighter premium creative cocktail options. Would definitely recommend for those looking for a chill adult only all inclusive option.

The restaurants are very easy to book. The beach is amazing and beautiful and well kept. The staff really make the resort and the beach. Downfalls - cigerette smoke everywhere. I mean everywhere. I am sensitive to it and it triggers a migraine and I had no way to get away except in our room. This alone we wont be back. The food is mediocre but we expect it at these types of places. Restaurants while easy to book are the ONLY option in the evening and the food is ok. We will try another resort along this beach but not this resort.

The staff were excellent and the resort was well laid out. There was some amazing little intimate spots and overall the atmosphere was excellent for a couple travelling alone. The highlight was the Rauxa restaurant where four local artists put on an amazing acrobatic and aerial show. The negative would be the food. There is plenty of “variety” - Steakhouse, Italian, Asian, International, Mexican and Buffet. There were a couple exceptional dishes I would expect from a resort of this calibre - the Chicken at Mamma Mia and the Mole at the Mexican restaurant among them. But more often than not the offerings fell extremely flat. The filets at the grill were cooked nearly raw on one side and rock hard on the other. The tuna on the appetizer at the Mexican restaurant resembled marbles it had been fried so long. The Alfredo at Mamma Mia was splotchy, floury and the shrimp were gritty. I could go on but there should be enough examples here. If you are looking for a great environment and don’t care much about the food quality then this is the place for you. If food is an important part of the experience for you then you may want to look elsewhere.
