Hotel closed during our stay...!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not told upon booking that this resort was closing on May 1. Our reservation was from Apr 27 to 30..!!!!!!!!! We were assured that resort would be in full running operation thruout our stay. First day was true........second day on everything went downhill in every aspect. Each day more closed down, between restaurants, activities, entertainment, running out of liquor, air conditioning being turned off, and lack of hot water. Environment was HORRIBLE between guests infuriating and staff sadness, which they did their BEST to hide but just couldn't. Overall horrifying vacation experience.

It's called Dreams for a reason!
My bf & I recently stayed here for a week and we am so so happy we did. The staff was so friendly with exceptional service! There was always something to do within a 5 min. walk including grab food or a drink. Speaking of food... AMAZING! Fresh, good quality & tasted delicious.They are also very helpful with planning excursions outside the resort. The dolphin tank is just the icing on the cake :) Our vacation was romanitc, relaxing & fun all thank to Dreams Resort & Spa.

I personally would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in a nice comfortable room/hotel itself. It is not as glamorous as the images appear online. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt, which I believe is in the process of doing so. Overall avoid staying here.

Wonderful Beach Resort
This was our second trip to Dreams Cancun. We went to a different resort last year, but it was not as good as Dreams Cancun. We were very happy with our room and the very friendly staff who remained upbeat even though this resort was closing and they were losing their jobs. One of the waiters even remembered me from 2 years ago. The beach was wonderful and I enjoyed swimming in the ocean from their beach as there were minimal waves and not much undertow. The three outside restaurants had great food from a good selection plus were located very close to the beaches. I will always remember watching the sunrise from our room and the dolphins swim and play on our way to and from the main restaurant. It was fascinating to stop and watch the dolphins swim close to you and turn slightly so they could make eye contact with you. We swam with the dolphins two years ago at Dreams Cancun and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are very sad to know that Dreams Cancun is closing as we would have been a yearly returning guest. Hopefully we can find another resort similar to Dreams Cancun. Maybe the new owners will not destroy this great resort. The palm trees and other plants growing inside the main building where we stayed were magnificent.

Great hotel with very friendly and attentive staff
This was our second time in Cancun and this resort was definitely worth every penny! Restaurants, including the daily buffet were great. The pools and beach were not too crowded and we always found lounge chairs with umbrellas. We will be back soon!

Great location, everything close by, great beach
We honeymooned here in early April 2014, and we had an AMAZING experience. The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious! The room service takes quite a bit of time, but everything was great. The room we got overlooked the ocean, and I really think any room you get, because of the location of the resort, will have ocean views. The only thing about the rooms (we upgraded after a few days) is that the TVs are very low quality and old. It is a great hotel, very friendly, pool side bar was nice, but could have been better, and the entertainment team was awesome and fun. The only thing is that you have to pay quite a bit if you want to have access to wifi the whole time you're there, since that is not included. The swimming with dolphins is also not included, obviously, but I loved having the dolphins inside the hotel, every time we would walk to our room you could see the dolphins swim by and make jumps, even at night with no one around. Very peaceful hotel, very family oriented and romantic. Loved it!

Loved Dreams Cancun!!!
We loved Dreams Cancun! Loved it! I read over reviews before we left and was a little scared by all the poor comments. We stayed in the Pyramid building and had a very nice room. Yes, it was a little older, but I loved the Mexican charm with the stucco walls. It was super clean and the bed linens were soft and comfortable. We travelled with 2 teenagers so sharing 2 double beds for a family of four would have been tough. Our room was big enough that we fit in 2 cots, no charge! We overlooked the dolphins, which I loved. I did not find them noisy as I read in other comments, but they do start their swim with the dolphin programs at 9am, which were a little noisy. Very nice beach, calm waters, not much for snorkelling though. The kids had fun on the water trampoline and the kayaks (included). The drinks were amazing and plentiful, the bar staff were great. The food was fantastic!! Our favorite was Himitsu, the Japanese choice. We took in the evening entertainment every night we were there. It was a lot of fun. I am sad that they will be closing, but since we had such a fabulous time, I am sure that we may look into this place again under the Hyatt name. Thanks Dreams for a fantastic Mexican holiday!

The best part of this hotel is the private beach.
It was a nice family place to visit but not one that we have put on our list to return to. We spent all our time on the beach. The small pool as filled with small kids. No one was ever at the swim up bar for that reason. The dolphins are a nice, unique attraction. The food was very good at the on-site restaurants. However, if you want to sit more than 4 people to a table, you are charged to do so. We had a party of 11 and only could be seated together at the steak house if we promised to purchase a $50 bottle of wine. At the Mexican restaurant, they told us it would be $20 to seat us together. At the end of our stay, they had charged us $20 per person ($220) instead of $20 total. The charges were dropped but not until we argued with the front desk for a half an hour. When you pay for all-inclusive, I don't feel you should have to pay extra to sit with your family to eat.

Staff made the stay
We just got home after 6 days at Dreams. The hotel is getting a redo starting this Wednesday. The staff was getting laid off but despite their anxiety I thought they handled all well. We enjoyed everything and thought the property was beautiful. Sure it's old but you don't find a better location in all Cancun. Any potential employers in Cancun please look into the well trained staff.

Close to the beach but needs remodeling
The rooms in club section were not modern, bathroom needed remodeling, chairs and table were very primitive . Staff gave me different information about internet every day . Food not tasty and not very clean : I got sick twice ; not enough fruit . Long walk from beach chairs to ocean . The servers were very sweet .room,s view of the ocean was beautiful . Overall this hotel needed major redoing of all areas .

Nice Hotel - front of beach on all 3 sides.
Rooms are old and needs serious upgrade. Not too many choices for food though they have plenty of items, but all repeated every day. They have some 4 restaurants - the mexican is good (again their menu have very few items though they all tasted really good) but you have to make reservations and when you try they tell you its full and try your luck going there directly at certain times. Seafood restaurant is for adults only. only restaurant accessible without reservations is their world cafe (which is really not foods from around the world) but same repeatitive stuff everytime you go. Best thing about this hotel is their staff - very pleasing and very attentive.

I stayed at Dreams 4/15-4/22- the views were beautiful. We had an oceanview room. I could hear the waves all night, it was awesome. Crystal blue waters and water all around. The food was good- I wish they had a few more choices but it was still good. Only one pool with a pool bar- not a bad size and not over crowded but I would like a bigger, fancier pool (if I'm being picky) plenty of bars, good drinks. Dolphins and dolphin view rooms- I prefer the ocean view unless you have kids you might prefer the dolphin room. I wouldn't stay in the tower, it is far from the water- Staff was nice- room was ok, nothing special. The hotel does need some remodeling and updating- the views made up for it. Great location. Hyatt is buying the property and will take over as of May 2014. I heard they may close for a year. So if you're looking for this year you may be out of luck but give it a try or look for the new name next year. I'm sure Hyatt is closing to remodel- I hope they keep the dolphins! I would go back again for sure! I was going next year but can't if they are closed. Great kids club- I didn't take kids but they had lots of activities for kids, families and adults.

The hotel provided a comfortable environment suitable for family and couple holidays. A resort which boasts two separate beaches, dolphins and numerous restaurants at a considerably reasonible price entertained my partner and I comfortably for over a week.

The ocean in Cancun is always warm and beautiful, coupled with a helpful friendly staff makes it a great vacation. The dolphins, the spa, the gym (fix bikes), most restaurants, the room (minus ants), were great. Only real complaint was when the seaside staff rushed us out of a half empty restaurant. They served our entrees while my wife was still eating her appetizer. This only happens in bar restaurants where kids work. Oceana, world cafe very good, the Mexican restaurant staff and food was excellent/ fun atmosphere.

Very friendly staff
The staff was terrific, however the hotel rooms were small, only one pool, one jacuzzi, and everything was catered around the kids instead of involving the adults too.
