"This was our 4th vacation at a Riu Palace, first one at this particular resort (Playa del Carmen)..we stay with them because the people, service, dining and resort are always fabulous the only slight negative on this trip was that due to the continued very hot weather, the swimming pools water was warmer than what i prefer...still swam them every day as well as the ocean"

"This property is one I would come back to. The entertainment staff were amazing and made us feel like family! Luna, Betto, Johnny and Ramsey were such a pleasure every day and were some of the kindest people I have ever met. They truly made our vacation and are a main reason why we would come back! The shows at night were also a highlight and the staff often got involved in them and even had audience come on stage. Food was amazing but dinner options are not ment for large groups, we had a group of 8 and although “no reservations” were needed we needed to wait up to 2 hours to be sat at the table and were often split into 2 groups of 4. The actual dinner took very long to serve and we often had to ask for the courses to be hurried along when our waiters would go missing. Front lobby staff and bartenders were not very outgoing or helpful and we often felt we were bothering them. It really depended on the server… either perfection or 30 min looking for someone to bring you a water. Pools were clean and we spent time by the “fun pool” where activities took place, there are quiet areas that were more relaxing but my group went for the more “party” time in addition to some relaxation. This resort is a good medium for party and relaxing and allows you to have both options. Overall I would recommend this resort but if you are someone who is apart of a large group and you don’t have patience, this resort is not for you unless you are planning to eat the buffet every day. "

"There is a lot of great wildlife on the property as it is right beside Xcaret. Having two private entrances to Xcaret is great as it takes many days to fully appreciate everything in Xcaret. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Lunch and breakfast food selection options were great. Dinner selections were very varied. For the most part the property is kept very clean but could do better job picking up cans and glasses around the pool areas at the end of each day as you found the odd ones still around the next morning. The bartenders are not very good making the fancy cocktails as they should be made but they do not skimp on alcohol. Service in the al la carte restaurants was not consistent but upon request they were responsive. This was our 3rd time at this hotel and overall we would return again."

"We had the most amazing 5 days at the Hilton adult only resort! The staff were exceptional, very friendly and accomodating to our dietary needs (gluten free). One of the managers Ana was particularly kind and often checked in to make sure we were satisfied with all services, she even called our room to thank us the night before we checked out. I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting a fun but relaxing holiday and we hope to return in the future! "

"This resort is located in a great spot. Walk into town and do some shopping or grab something at the Farmacia. Catch the ferry to Cozumel, or take a tour to Tulum which is less than an hour away. "
