"Loved property"

"What a magical resort! It’s a great place for a family vacation. We loved seeing the monkeys, coatis, and iguanas. The cenotes and natural surroundings were the main reasons we chose this resort. All the restaurant options were fabulous! We especially loved the Japanese restaurant, El Tempo. One great benefit of booking through Expedia is that the hotel concierge will make three restaurant reservations for you. The weather wasn’t ideal for us, but we embraced it—snorkeling in the rain and even spotting a small stingray at the resort’s beach. Be sure to bring water shoes, and you’ll have no trouble walking on the rocky parts of the shore. The rooms were perfect for families, and the bunk beds were an incredible option! The staff were fabulous and so was the night time shows. What a gem of a place! We can’t wait to return!"

"Very nice resort "

"This is truly an amazing property and worth the money. The rooms were nice and clean. The food was top notch at all restaurants, especially the a la carte. We only visited Xplor park which was a lot of fun. My only reasons for not giving 5 starts in all categories were due to the following: 1. As noted in many reviews, the staff push you to attend a presentation for the expanded area of the hotel. This is actually a sales tactic for a membership (which you may or may not be interested in). Though they promise a 90 minute presentation in exchange for a $200 credit, it ended up being over 3 hours between the breakfast with the sales staff then further meetings with managers etc. etc. They need to be more honest up front about the time commitment. Fortunately, the $200 credit is paid at the end which we used at the spa with no issues. 2. We had a garden suite room. It was a ground level floor very close to where people walk to and from the restaurants or the pool. It becomes very loud at night as the room was not very sound proof. To avoid these issues, upgrade your room so you get a higher level, and avoid the sales presentation (unless you feel 3 1/2 hours of your time is worth $200USD). Overall, I will definitely come back in the future."

"Great location. Near the beach, 5th ave, Ado bus drop off or departure, Walmart!! And, lots of inexpensive local taco stands or restaurants. Dona Paula’s for Pozole, honestly it’s like your mom is cooking…great soup and inexpensive, large with trimmings…& $110 peso…. Soooooo good. Love the hotel front desk staff, warm, welcoming and just really nice. This is a very comfortable, typical mexican, older place, to stay. "

"We stayed at OMR for a week in January and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious and fresh, the beaches were clean, the drinks were professionally crafted, and the entertainment was top-notch (their acrobats were amazing!). Each day and night there was something new to keep us truly entertained. Above all, the staff stood out with their uplifting energy and kindness. Special shoutout goes to Carlos for being so attentive and bringing life to the party, as well as Alex and Viridiana for their amazing energy. Lastly, their singer Paula is extremely talented and if you get a chance to listen to her, it will be one of the highlights of your stay. While this hotel is great, it was by no means perfect and there were some hitches in the road, but the staff worked promptly to make our stay as memorable as possible. "

"Spent 7 nights at the ocean paradise in playa del Carmen with my family total 6 of us 2kids 4 adults youngest 6 oldest 60 and we all loved it and had a great time there is something for everyone "

"What I liked most about the resort was that it was smaller so everything was so accessible. The food was fantastic especially at the a la carte restaurants as well as the pool side restaurant. The beach was incredible. The one thing that I wasn't a fan of was the diamond members being able to reserve pool side chairs and umbrellas and sometimes not showing up until noon or not showing up at all. Also, the only thing that was missing at the breakfast buffet was a toaster. Ither than that, everything was great. I would definitely return in a heartbeat. Also, the palace resorts app made any request so easy and staff were very prompt."
