The hotel facilities were great, but it was overcrowded, making the stay quite overwhelming. The dinner restaurant was fully booked, so I couldn’t get a reservation, and breakfast required waiting in a long line just to enter. I came here to enjoy my vacation, not to waste time standing in lines. Due to the large number of guests, the service was disappointing. When I asked the concierge, Daniel, for help with restaurant reservations or general inquiries, he simply told me to check the hotel’s mobile app or search on Google. I’ve been to many resorts, but this one was the worst in terms of experience, despite its good facilities and high ratings. Would not recommend for those looking for a relaxing and hassle-free vacation.

This is truly an amazing property and worth the money. The rooms were nice and clean. The food was top notch at all restaurants, especially the a la carte. We only visited Xplor park which was a lot of fun. My only reasons for not giving 5 starts in all categories were due to the following: 1. As noted in many reviews, the staff push you to attend a presentation for the expanded area of the hotel. This is actually a sales tactic for a membership (which you may or may not be interested in). Though they promise a 90 minute presentation in exchange for a $200 credit, it ended up being over 3 hours between the breakfast with the sales staff then further meetings with managers etc. etc. They need to be more honest up front about the time commitment. Fortunately, the $200 credit is paid at the end which we used at the spa with no issues. 2. We had a garden suite room. It was a ground level floor very close to where people walk to and from the restaurants or the pool. It becomes very loud at night as the room was not very sound proof. To avoid these issues, upgrade your room so you get a higher level, and avoid the sales presentation (unless you feel 3 1/2 hours of your time is worth $200USD). Overall, I will definitely come back in the future.

Hotel XCaret was amazing! Beautiful beyond words, lots of great restaurants to choose from. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved our room and it included all the parks where we had amazing adventures. We will definitely be repeat visitors!

This is our second time at this hotel. Last year we rated it 5 stars. This year there were just a ton of small things that made this experience not feel like a luxury hotel. From staff that was rude, to terrible housekeeping. Food quality dropped substantially. Last year they heated the kids pool, this year they didn't and the weather was chilly. Just overall it was a big disappointment. Hope they can bring back the quality we experienced in 2024.

The place was nice, the food was meh. I’ve been to 19 resorts in Mexico and the food here was the worst I had. Needs improvements in food or won’t be back

We stayed here one day, we arrived on a Sunday. Unfortunately we were not informed until our arrival that the only park open was Xcaret park. Our bad experience was with the jacuzzi. We followed directions on how far up to fill and all was fine, but when I excited after maybe 30min of using it. The entire floor from jacuzzi area, sink, closet, shower, and under both beds was full of water. We quickly called the front desk to let them know. They did not seemed surprised. We were very concerned as we left cell phone charges plugged in and if they had been touching the water, I would have been electrocuted. They sent someone to check on jacuzzi, and cleaning services do dry the floor and leave clean towels. Employees said this is something that happens often. That the cleaning crew always complains that they have to drain the tub slowly or it overflows through a drain they have under the sink. They said the drains are just too small to deal with that amount of water. This is a safety issue and it seems they don’t take it seriously and probably won’t until a tragedy happens. As expensive as this hotel is, they should have the funds to remove jacuzzis from rooms so no one else can use them since their drainage system is not at capacity for them to be used and drained properly.

We chose this hotel based on its reputation, but unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Food Safety Issues: Our entire family suffered from food poisoning during our stay. My wife fell ill after dining at Las Cuevas, bedridden for two days, and shortly after, our 5-year-old and 1-year-old also became sick with vomiting and diarrhea. Witnessing a staff member handle raw steak and octopus with bare hands, then touch the steak again before serving it, was shocking and raised serious food hygiene concerns. Terrible Concierge Service: When my 1-year-old needed diapers due to diarrhea, I requested assistance from the concierge. Despite repeated visits and promises, diapers were not delivered for two days, and I was asked for more money each time. One staff member even suggested I take a taxi to buy them myself, which was highly inconsiderate. Eventually, after escalating the issue to managers, I received the diapers within 20 minutes, raising questions about why they weren’t provided earlier. Overall Impact: Our vacation was ruined as we were confined to the hotel, exhausted from sleepless nights with sick children. The lack of food safety and the concierge’s handling of our situation left a lasting negative impression. I would not recommend this hotel until they address their food safety standards and train their staff to handle guest concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Great property by the seaside . The building s are surrounded by jungles and merged with the forests. The building and design are piece of art. Super friendly and hard working staff.

The views of the landscape was beautiful. The food was good. Some bars had great service ( the one at the sushi restaurant was excellent and the bar at the Mexican restaurant ( not buffet ) was excellent. The food at the Mexican restaurant was excellent. The coffee bar didn’t open until 7am which was disappointing for early morning people. We originally booked this trip so we could go to xavage park but once we got there and tried to reserve our tickets they told us the park is closed. They are revamping the park. This was not posted on their website or Expedia website. ALL parks means ALL parks and it wasn’t. Then there is one restaurant at the resort that has a dinner show but when we reserved that restaurant it was booked all week long. Which is ridiculous because we just arrived. Then after sleeping in the bed our first night we discovered the sheets were dirty. We didn’t inspect the bed before getting in. And our air conditioning didn’t work the whole week we were there. Every day someone came into the room saying it was fixed and every night was a sweaty night 76 degrees in the room. Finally the last night they truly fixed the air. Then we arrived to our room after being gone all day at a park and found dirty water all over the toilet area and the electrical panel was not on the wall. So once again we had to contact front desk. Another disappointment was they did not have a mini bar in the room. You had to physically walk to a bar to get a drink in your room.
