"Short stay dinner (Sama-Sama Restaurant- a dissappointment) Enjoyed wine-cheese and breakfast. Garden upgraded room. Walking distance to harbor. Convenient parking and quiet. Front desk heated up leftovers from a previous stay. Super service and courtesy. Will stay again and have recommended to my daughter a UCSB alum"

"Castillo Inn at the Beach was perfect! Exactly the type of hotel/motel I love! One story, quiet courtyard, parking right close to your room. The patio was an added bonus. The front desk manager, Jose, was so welcoming! We loved our stay and would definitely return."

"I realize there's alot of renovation going on right now, with that in mind I will reframe saying anything negative....But PLEASE fix the shower knobs so we can turn them on , It was very difficult to turn on the water"

"It was very affordable, tho that may be because it was off season. In season it probably is still reasonable considering it is only a 5 minute walk to the main beach. Excellent mexican food right across the street and other choices with in a 1-20 minute relaxed stroll Clearly dated, but well maintained and everything that we needed worked well"

"I have a large family, including teens and small children. The suite was very spacious and accommodating, and the free breakfast is a convenient feature. The room was a little older, which is understandable considering the area, but the beds and decor were comfortable."
