This hotel is in a very convenient location on State Street, surrounded by many restaurants, bars, and stores. It's a half-mile walk to the beach and Stearns Wharf. The immediate area seems geared towards the collegiate crowd. The hotel was undergoing renovation so the temporary lobby was small. Staff was very friendly.

The Hotel Santa Barbara is being beautifully restored. We took the train and it was an easy walk to the hotel. It is on the State Street Promenade - exceptionally walk able. Restaurants and shopping right outside the door. The bikes were the cherry on top. The only thing I could comment on was that the pillows were too hard, which was minor.

The room was ok, but we were really bummed on the redesign. We stayed at the hotel a few months ago and really liked the spanish style. The finishes are pretty cheap and don’t go together. The tv placement is awkward. The shower water didn’t drain. The bed was fine but the room is not as nice as it was.

We stayed at Hotel Santa Barbara the first week of October ‘24. Remodeling activity was extensive meaning that some floors were totally closed. No bar or restaurant was available either. Location is very good, 6 blocks from the beach and in the middle of shopping and restaurants. The staff were very friendly.

We booked a few months prior to our stay with the knowledge that they were undergoing renovations. A few days before our stay we were relocated to a different hotel and told they were unable to accommodate us. We had picked this hotel because we were getting married that weekend and the hotel was a 7 minute walk to our venue, the new hotel was not walkable. Also some of our family were at the same hotel and they did not get moved. It was disappointing that the hotel knew of the renovation months in advance but a few days before our wedding were unable to accommodate us.

Staff was super friendly, welcoming and helpful! Perfect location so you can walk to everything in the downtown, Funkzone, and waterfront areas. So many great amenities from sparkling wine at check-in, ice water/tea in the lobby, fresh baked cookies, bathrobes and slippers, free reusable water bottles, water filling stations, and so much more. The rooms were perfectly decorated and beautiful.

The Hotel Santa Barbara is very conveniently located for shopping and dining. There are museums and other attractions a short walk away. A walk of about ten minutes brings you to the beach. All of the the staff members I met are very nice and helpful. There are a few loud bars nearby. I used earplugs, so it wasn't a problem for me. It is very nice that the hotel has loaner bikes for visitors to borrow. -Tim B-
