"My wife and I stayed at the Rambler for a long weekend away. We went to SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo and the Old Town Trolley Tour. The Rambler’s location was perfect! About 15 minutes from downtown San Diego meant we were not going to be disrupted by a lot of noise (like planes landing and taking off) but still close enough that a quick drive got us to everything. "Check in was easy and room did have a stench in the room that never went away. Eventually I got used to the scent but my wife smelled it the entire stay. Besides that the bed was comfy and room includes coffee and microwave plus a fridge. Free continental breakfast was nice and not far from a huge mall. "

"Always a great trip. The staff is always helpful and kind. The area is perfect for walking to many restaurants. They continue to keep the rooms in good condition and take care of the property. Very secure. You must enter through the lobby. "

"The price was very reasonable for San Diego. The staff at the front desk and the maids were extremely courteous and helpful. The location was convenient and although safe, not the best part of town. The room was very clean. The mattress was new and firm. Stayed for nine days in February 2025. Complimentary breakfast (while the room was being renovated) consisted of brown bags for each guest containing orange juice, banana or orange, yogurt, Jimmy Dean sausage sandwich, pastry, bottle of water and protein bar. Not the del Coronado hotel but would definitely stay there again."
