"The resort is lovely and snorkeling right in front is amazing. Not a ton of dining options as not all restaurants are open every night but you don’t lack for food. Staff was very attentive and gracious but they did ask us to listen to their membership pitch in exchange for a free excursion- not sure that was worth it. Spa massage was great! Overall wonderful trip for a girls vacation! "

"The property is old and there is some need for upgrading things like beds and shower stalls/tubs…but we go there again and again because the staff is wonderful. The beach is beautiful with some of the best snorkeling we’ve ever seen. Our housekeeping lady (Mercedez) was so kind and by the end of the week we were best friends. It’s a treasure in Cozumel…we know there are nicer hotels but we will probably keep going to El Cozumeleño forever. If you are a princess who needs every aspect of service to be impeccable, this isn’t your hotel. If you travel to other countries to experience the culture and get to know some of the locals, and can appreciate hard work and effort made on your behalf, you’ll be happy there."

"The dining options and quality of food were great. We enjoyed the flexibility of the buffet. It should be stressed more at check in, or booking even, the need for restaurant reservations. It is more of a necessity than a recommendation. The resort app was easy to use and worked well for room service and mini bar refills. The bell staff were always friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff did a great job. For evening entertainment, the Tequila Shot Band was excellent! "
