"While the hotel is in a convenient area with lots within walking distance, and the facilities are also nice in appearance, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. There was a dead cockroach that had been there so long its legs had fallen off. The sheets were not clean, the walls had smudges and marks all over them. It’s as if they hadn’t cleaned the room in months and forgot to do anything after the last person checked out (other than make the bed). There was also no toilet...

"We had a great stay. The staff are lovely and the rooms clean and spacious. Amazing views of the lake from our balcony. Free kayaks which was a lot of fun! The views from the deck was stunning also. Breakfast, Coffe and water were included, which we enjoyed. The hotel is about a 10 min drive or 35 min walk into Bacalar. There's lots of great bars and restaurants there! The only slight negative was the noise from the road at night but ear plugs worked well and we were in one of the rooms closer...
