"We were supposed to stay at Riu Tequila. But when we checked in, they informed us we were staying at Riu Yucatan. It ended up being a blessing as the room was SO MUCH CLOSER to the beach/pools/bars/etc. The rooms were so-so but were fine. We had a 2-adjoining room set-up for us and our teens, so that was nice. Service and staff was great. Much better than another resort we stayed at last year down the road in Playacar. This was a very cost-efficient trip to Playa Del Carmen. ...

"We had a good stay at the Reef with our family. Wish there were a few more food options. Especially as a vegetarian. Would be nice if they offered veggie things at the poolside restaurant. Buffet was good and service at the restaurant was always great. I really wish the entertainment started earlier. We have young kids and unfortunately had to miss out on the entertainment every night because it started at 9 or 9:30pm. Also the earliest you can eat dinner is 6:30pm which is quite late for kids...
