Spectacular Best View in Pez Vela – 4 BDRMS & Private Dipping Pool

If you are looking for a magnificent location with a million-dollar180-degree commanding panoramic ocean view that invites you to experience its relaxing Pacific zen, this is your Shangri-La. Villa Serendipity is a 4-bedroom Deluxe unit whose top-of-the-complex corner vantage point offers the acknowledged best view of any villa in Pez Vela. Surrounded by resplendent plants and visited by familiar local birds, you can bask in unobstructed vistas of the Gulf of Papagayo, the Bay of Culebra, and Playa Ocotal. Splendid offshore rock isles, and sailboats in their bay moorings below, beckon you with their inherent quiet beauty.

Please view the two-minute video to understand not just the dwelling, but the experience that is available to you. [Note: VRBO is revamping their site, and has temporarily deleted the video. I hope to have it back online soon]. The villa's exterior was recently completely redone, with new roof and a fresh, updated look.

The main villa features three upstairs bedrooms, two of which have full ocean-view balconies. The separate Casita, a self-contained efficiency unit overlooking the spectacular infinity dipping pool view, offers privacy and quietude, as well as ground-level entry for disability access. The variety of bedrooms available, along with 3-1/2 baths, offers maximum flexibility for families. Fiber-optic Wifi, entertainment center and flat screen TVs allow you to tailor your media … or to leave them off and go listen to the howler monkeys!

This recently renovated tasteful villa, with backlit kitchen and pleasing local artwork, was designed around the concept of Serendipity: The phenomenon of events or occurrences that develop by chance in an agreeable or beneficial way. Leave your problems at home, show up with an open mind and an open heart, and let the flow of life and nature bring you unexpected gifts. The light sea-green and sky-blue hues of the villa’s walls will offer you welcome Costa Rican respite in comfortable, non-ostentatious fashion. Outdoor BBQ and a variety of seating options let you tailor your relaxation.

In addition to the private dipping pool, a second, larger secluded infinity pool is two minutes’ walk away, right next to the jungle. Walk a few additional minutes down the hill, and you encounter our open-air Soluna Restaurant, which has just reopened under highly-acclaimed new management. It is adjacent to another spacious pool, which overlooks the resort’s ocean beach called Playa Azul. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are available on-site, and an array of local outdoor activities are accessible by talking to a gem named Cesar in the Office. Some of the many adventures at your disposal include sundown cruises, sport fishing, diving and snorkeling, Diamante Eco Adventure Park, surfing, ziplining, hiking, massage, yoga and much more.

With the vibrant street life of the town of Playas del Coco less than 10 minutes’ drive away, and Liberia International Airport 35 minutes away, your accessibility to options is easy. Playa Ocotal and Bahia Pez Vela comprise one of the very few Pacific Costa Rican communities that are a cul-de-sac (end-of-the-line) destination. By not being a typical “through” beach area, with the bustle of transiting cars and people, Bahia Pez Vela is revered for its tranquility and quiet natural atmosphere, as well as its 24-hour security.

If you can envision watching the entirety of the sunset over the Pacific, while seeing the moon rise above the foothills as you sit next to your private infinity pool with your favorite beverage in hand, Villa Serendipity is your calling.

Bliss
My family & I stayed at Richard’s home for 10 days. You would think relaxing day in & day out for 10 days would be long enough but at the end of this time, we still hated to leave. The heat during our stay made it easy to totally melt into vacation mode. Yet the pool access (dipping pool as well as larger resort pools) kept us all very comfortable. This home aptly named Serenity provided ample space for our party of 9 with different sitting areas & patios for both socializing & privacy when desired. The kitchen was well equipped & the rest of the home quite comfortable. We ate at the resort restaurant once & while the meal was outstanding, we found it a bit too expensive for our family. We ate at Father Roosters a couple of times & thoroughly enjoyed the food & atmosphere . Our only challenge had to do with our transportation as we did have a large party, we would have ideally rented 2 vehicles. But with the cost of rentals, we chose only 1 (7 person) SUV. Pretty much everywhere you’d like to go requires a vehicle especially in the hot temperatures. Even the walk back from the beach is challenging being uphill in the heat, even though it is only 1/2 km. But this is our third stay in CR & I would say every trip necessitated a vehicle to thoroughly enjoy the area. We encountered a couple of small issues which Richard & the resort resolved immediately. Overall our stay was everything we had hoped for & would absolutely choose this home again! Puts Vida ✌️

Beautiful place to exist in.
We loved our time here, and hope to stay again someday. The views, the perfect beach nearby, the friendly staff - all top notch. Minor issues checking in, through no fault of our host, but once those were resolved.we had a great time.

Loved Costa Rica!
We were 4 adults ages 65 to 68...we stayed 3 weeks. The villa aling with the Casita was plenty of room for us. We really loved sitting by the plunge pool..looking at the beautiful view! The kitchen was well equipped..however we didnt do any cooking. Washer dryer were very good. Beds were very comfortable too. We ate breakfast almost everyday at Soluna as well as many dinners. Food was delicious...service was quite slow..guess it's still a learning curve. The staff at the restaurant were extremely nice and always smiling! There was great live entertainment some nights as well. The pool at the beach bar was very well maintained and great temperature! There is an.issue with finding shade...I think it would

From the beginning the owner and the property manager were responsive to my questions. The property was perfect for the ten of our family. M husband and I enjoyed the privacy and quiet of the casita. Our four grandsons ages 5-10 enjoyed the dipping pool daily and we enjoyed the beautiful view while they swam. The beach and pool were a challenging walk but easy drive from the villa. We enjoyed the facilities, esp. with less people than public beaches. The villa had everything we needed to cook meals, TV's in all the bedrooms, and quality decor. We were close to several beautiful public beaches. Having Coco so close for groceries and shopping was helpful. Be aware that the roads from Coco to the Villa are narrow and rough, but the villla was worth it. We were all pleased with the villa and the resort.

Family trip
The property was very nice and the views were great! The space was roomy and accommodated our multi-generation family of 7 very well. The kitchen was well equipped, wifi on property and at house no problems at all - both pools, restaurant and beach. A rental car is a must if you plan to eat dinner out, do some day trips and even venture to the beach/pool as it is a very steep trip down to those amenities and back to the amenities. Both pools were very quiet during our stay and we got local tips from owners while enjoying the pools. The office staff Cesar and Jacky were very helpful and arranged a wonderful sunset/snorkel sailing trip for us. The resort, in general, is fairly remote/quiet and is about a 15 minute trip to Coco where there are many great restaurants! The resort restaurant is very convenient and is relatively new, just getting up and running. We enjoyed many beverages poolside from Soluna. Overall, would recommend if you are looking for a quiet, low key beach vacation. There are day trips that can be done from the resort but it depends what you are expecting to see in Costa Rica. Overall, Dick was a great host and was very responsive to all my questions. He provided great tips prior to our arrival to make our vacation more enjoyable.

Amazingly Beautiful!
I cannot thank the owner (Richard) enough for his kind advice when I had a question. We have stayed on the property before, so we knew what to expect as far as the development and area. However, it was the first time at his condo. The small casita a few steps from the house was the "cherry on the cake". You sat in the dipping pool by the casita and the view blew you away. The house itself has more than what you need as far as dishes, pots and pans. The only negative (and we have been there before so it was no surprise) is that you are goodly distance away from everything so you will need a car or be content to enjoy the lovely beach, restaurant, and pools at the condo. We had Randall (our most favorite guide in the whole world!) take our party to the sites we chose. Cesar (the property manager) was kind enough to arrange fishing trips and the car for us. Sadly, the whole area will be changing soon. The number of "for sale" signs on land was mind-blowing. In ten years, I expect a plethora of developments. Randall passed a very large project on the way to town and that project will involve a man-made lake and (it looks like thousands) of condos and hotels. I can't picture the current infrastructure being able to handle it. So, I guess, if you want to see Costa Rica, go now. It is not cheap, but its beauty is overwhelming.

Great stay!
The place was great for our family. We were 6 adults and 2 kids. The common rooms were spacious and the bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with anything you might need to cook any meal. The appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, fridge, outside grill, griddle) seemed new and worked well. The views from the balcony and from the private pool were amazing. The outside garden was lovely and there were hummingbirds around all day. It was a very short walk to the larger pool. The beach was a short drive or a longish walk up and down a hill, but it was a great beach, calm and good for swimming. Overall it was a great stay!

Beautiful vistas + great amenities and personal touches
Our group included three generations and everyone had an amazing time. We reserved the villa in 2020 (had to cancel due to the pandemic) and are so happy we finally made it! Although part of a small resort, the amenities and available activities were outstanding. We enjoyed the dipping pool as well as the larger resort pools as well as the beach the restaurant, and the spa services. Abi (from the BHP office) was amazing, and helped arrange for grocery delivery, airport transportation, excursions, and more. Cesar (also in the BHP office) delivered a birthday cake to our villa to celebrate two family members. The cooking class, snorkeling trip, and Palo Verde nature cruise were all so much fun. The villa and casita were comfortable with plenty of room for the six of us. Although we visited during the "rainy" season, the weather did not negatively impact our trip. The views were just amazing, even when it rained. The rainbows were huge! The owner provided very timely and helpful communication before and during our stay--Many thanks for a wonderful stay!

This property was spectacular! The views are amazing! The balcony area and the small pool was breathtaking every wake up and sunset. The staff at the resort are very helpful. The walk up the hill from the beach is a great workout to get the heart moving. If older renters, you will want a car. Would rent the property again for sure!

My New Favorite Place
This experience was first class from beginning to end. Check in was a breeze. Richard D Plush, the property owner wasn't in town but he responded right away to my texts. The staff at Bahia Pez Vela were wonderful especially Jacky and Abby. The property was breathtaking and the views, well you will have to see for yourself but, wow! Beach Club and beach were both wonderful and I recommend walking, it is only about 500m from the villa to the beach but a great workout if you can do it a few times a day. It was quiet and peaceful. The villa literally had everything you could ask for, it immediately felt like home. Internet was lighting fast, we had three teenagers online schooling for the last week and myself and my wife working remotely, the wifi kept up brilliantly. I am trying to find something negative or constructive but tbh I can't think of a single thing I didn't love. I guess the only thing I could complain about would be the weather, every day was sunny and 33 degrees....pretty boring LOL. I can't thank Richard and the folks at Pez Vela enough for making our stay truly wonderful. I am already planning a longer trip next year. Pura Vida.

Amazing view, beautiful house, fantastic community
We LOVED our visit! The community is very convenient whether you want to stay in 1 place or visit the surrounding areas. Walk down the hill to the restaurant and ocean (with access to kayaks & paddle boards for a reasonable fee). Service on the beach or at the large restaurant side pool is great! The food is yummy. We saw tons of big fish and explored the rocks with the snorkel from the house. The water is perfect. Less than a mile down the hill the other direction is a fun restaurant/bar “Father Roosters” that’s easy to get to and right on the beach. The drive to Playa del Coco was easy. We ate in Coco a couple times to experience the bigger town, too. The little town nearer to the house has a small store for basic necessities and snacks but we didn’t find a restaurant there. The house was the perfect size and layout for our family of 8. The casita is amazing. The views from the floor to ceiling windows in all spaces took our breath away. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Simply fantastic.
We are a family of five (kids aged 11, 13, and 16) and Villa Serendipity was perfect. Could easily handle several couples. Hard to fully appreciate the property from the photos. Stunning views. Well-appointed property with a great layout, comfortable beds, and an extraordinary location within the resort. Beautiful, private beach. Excellent staff at the main pool, restaurant, and office. A smaller, more private pool close by, and the dipping pool outside the casita was a nice afternoon treat. Lots to do close by. We rented a car, but the office also has a paid shuttle service and can connect you to activities if you’re interested. Best arrival and check-in instructions we’ve ever received from a vrbo owner. No doubt, we will be back. Thank you, Dick. As the locals say, ‘Pura Vida.’
