"Liked the good food, good pools, grounds were great, and people working there were great. The building is grand and built with great beauty but the place has seen a lot of use - the fixtures in the bathroom sinks are warn and tarnished, the door to the room was in need of being stripped and re-varnished. Still the place looks beautiful - but it does not look new. The place was clean and welcoming. "

"Highly recommend this place especially for anyone who is celiac and especially for kids who are celiac. Staff were super friendly & helpful, excellent food, lots of activities on the go, fun water slides only a 5 min walk from the resort. My daughter is 9 and is celiac. When checking in I told them about her "gluten allergy", they immediately gave us a paper where any allergies are documented and our room number and told us to take it to any restaurant we ate at. She's super picky with food, we can't say enough good things about David & Monica, they're staff managers & dressed in black. They asked her what she wanted and would go and talk to the chef or the chef would come out. She had chicken nuggets, fries, pancakes, hashbrowns, sushi (loves avocado/cucumber rolls), bacon, chips & guac...lots of fruit, veggies, salads & various deserts. They could have made her more food like chicken, fish dishes etc. but she's picky. When I asked them if they had muffins, they brought out sealed little lemon muffins (so yummy!) & little sealed packages of mini gf bread. She was so happy to have food she could eat! It takes a little longer obviously so give yourself some extra time to wait for the food. They also told us if she didn't like anything at the other restaurants that she could have food from the buffet and bring it over to the other places we wanted to eat at. We did the zipline, animal sanctuary & snorkeling tour (Planet Dolphin tours) We love this resort & will be back!"

"Villa Alicia is a beautiful home, in a great location, within walking distance to the beach. The villa is clean ,well stocked,and very nicely appointed. If you are looking at this property, book it... you will be so happy!!"

"A wonderful property. Excellent location. Vanessa had excellent communication with us the entire time. We had just gone through two previous cancellations by other hosts last minute, and were scrambling to find a place to stay. I can't say enough about Vanessa and her team. We look forward to staying here in the future! The location in Ocotol was great, close to the beach and Father Rooster's which is a fave of ours. Gated property, all the amenities, and the layout was great for us. Thank you Vanessa for looking after us so well, we look forward to our future friendship with you."

"Our family stayed a week at Bahia Pez Vela - Villa 10. The owner sent wonderful comprehensive instructions to facilitate our arrival into the country and the home. The home had everything we needed and so much more. We cooked several meals at home and the kitchen was amply stocked. The living room, kitchen, and dining area had a wonderful open floor plan allowing us to enjoy time together with family and had wonderful touches for the Christmas season. The bed rooms were spacious and had wonderful air conditioning. The bathrooms had bath gel, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner and plenty of towels, including beach towels. The whole staff was incredible but a special thanks to our bartender, Kevin. Special shout out to our two favorites restaurants: 1) Soluna/ AOI sushi at the resort - spectacular drinks (especially recommend the red tide and the spicy green margarita) and food (especially enjoyed the sushi, and traditional Costa Rican dishes), 2) Sugoi Asian Mexican restaurant - solid across the board. We took several days trips, including Rincón de la Vieja national park, boat trip to Witches rock/ Santa Rosa national park, Diamonte eco adventure park, and multiple beaches (tamarindo, grande, coco, flamingo, hermosa were just some of the high points). We could have easily spent the week just enjoying the pool/ activities at the resort. The black sand beach at the resort was definitely one of our favorites. "We loved the location of this property. Just a short walk to the beach and quick drive to restaurants and stores. The pool on property was nice.Communication with the property manager was great. They responded quickly to any questions we had.The one negative was the lack of living room furniture and tv in the main living area. Our group of 8 did not have a spot to sit and watch tv or play games. The only sofa was the pullout couch in a bedroom where my son slept. "
