"Extremely underrated hotel with an amazing property. Location is very near to Arenal and the hanging bridges but is otherwise somewhat isolated from the rest of La Fortuna. If you're only staying a few days to see those locations, or the kind of person who doesn't mind a 15-30 minute drive to visit other locations, this is a non-issue. We had an unfortunate event on our first night with Housekeeping, and they tried to compensate us as much as possible, kindness and attention was our favorite reaction from all their personnel, from cart drivers, restaurants, SPAs, and the stars were the reception team. "Tabacón is an incredible resort! The springs is much larger than you would expect, with many beautiful parts to find privacy and relaxation. The drinks are incredible and views are even better. We indulged in a couples volcanic mud massage- and it was the best massage ever! The spa is beautiful, peaceful and worth it! One thing to consider is that it is a 20minute ride to town, so you are pretty much committed to eating at the resort- which is not cheap. Each drink is $15 and meals are $20 ....

"Our stay at Paradise Hot Springs was absolutely amazing! We loved the size of the property which was surrounded by empty land on all sides with Arenal volcano directly behind the property. The staff was attentive, rooms were spacious and the pools were always the perfect temperature to relax in. If you are staying in La Fortuna this hotel should be a top choice."

"My family (two teens 18, 19 and two young ones 5,7) stayed here for 6 nights and loved everything about this resort! Food was good and dinner options were very reasonably priced. The staff was all great, helpful and friendly. My teens loved this resort as much as my youngsters. Great family resort and so close to a lot of tours! We would definitely stay here again!!"
