"Mawamba Lodge is very lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the facility, walking along the beach, and strolling through the village of Tortuguero. Mawamba has a recycling station where you can pick up a bucket, walk along the beach and pick up garbage left behind by the tide. We like thinking we may have made a little difference for the turtles."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Sangregado. Francisco and Luis were both taking turns at the reception and were incredibly nice, attentive, and expedient with their responses. They made sure we were well cared for, whether it was reservations or an issue with an equipment in the room. They are great advertisements for Sangregado. The remainder of the staff as well were wonderful. The included breakfast buffet at the Blue Hibiscus (at the Lost Iguana down the road) was delicious and all staff...

"This family owned place is awesome!! We were very late getting to the hotel due to mudslides in La Fortuna. We were really tired when we got there. They brought us dinner to our room. They even fixed a flat tire for me. Very clean place and they are very accomodating to whatever you need. They have no ACbut with the windows abd door open there us enough breeze to cool your room. Cant say enough goos things about our time there."

"Loved the warm welcome drink and hospitality. The grounds are beautiful and our room was over the top with all natural wood and stone decor. Our surname posted on the front door was a nice personalized touch! We loved the balcony hammock and jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and bathroom waterfall! Access to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a huge aviary, exotic wildlife and gorgeous waterfalls. The property is terraced on a hill so lots of stairs."
