"We stayed in the private apartment, which was lovely. The fireplace is a very nice touch and the unit is well equipped with a kitchen and some fun retro touches (Pac-Man game and console, record player with records). The street is very noisy, but that is true with most places in the area. I wore ear plugs every night. The beds weren’t the most comfortable either. Staff was great though and the daily breakfast was nice. "

"This is not the marriott but i enjoyed my stay. its clean and cozy. The staff are very nice and helpful. I was well taken care of by John and victoria. I ended up with a stomach flu, soon after i checked in. I was grateful with the support and care i received. I feel i was in a much warmer, caring environment then if it was in a big name hotel. "Hands down, the best hostel I've stayed at. They have created and maintain a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere that makes it easy to connect with other guests as well. "Very clean essential amenities at an excellent price point. Airport Shuttle access was also a huge plus. Meticulously run by a dedicated family and located in a safe gated compound within a vibrant working class neighbourhood in San Jose. Will definitely be coming back 👍"

"Hotel Cipreses has a great location and was wonderful for our 1-night stay in November, extra convenient to Santa Elena Cloud Forest and Selvatura Park. We were traveling as a family with 2 teens, 2 adults and 2 grandparents and booked 2 rooms. Both rooms were spacious and clean, with a lovely enclosed balcony/porch. "The place felt safe, staff were friendly and the room was very clean, properly equiped. Only negatives were the loud noises coming from the highway right in front and the fact that nothing is really walkable from there, you have to have a car or call a taxi. But for a night just before going to the airport it was great!"

"If I could, I would have stayed longer in this establishment. The pictures and description does not do justice to this amazing place. The rooms are old but in reasonable state, and they are clean. The breakfast is good and with a perfect view over the garden. The garden is the best thing about the place. "The staff and service are wonderful. We have seen wildlife around the property including a coati, armadillo and a monkey! The location is up a hill/mountain so we tend to drive rather than walk into town. Breakfast here and all our meals in town at recommended spots have been great! The room is very clean but dated and the bathroom could use an upgrade. Otherwise, I’d give it 5 stars!"

"We stay 8 nights at Oasis. Everything was wonderful room, pool, hot tub. Stephen was very helpful, if you want do any tours ask him. He gave us his company for water rufting and it was a blast. The best experience we had at Quepos Costa Rica. Thank you Stephen , we will for sure back"

"Staff is fabulous, super friendly and helpful. Liked the breakfast and home cooked dinner. The covered walk ways and ubiquity if provided umbrellas are great when it's pouring buckets. Nice touch to provide rubber boots for forest walking. The walls between some rooms are super thin which can be annoying with noisy neighbors. "
