"We visited with our dog in January. The room was clean and comfortable. We had kindly been left a dog bed, bowls and a doggy goodie bag for our dog which was a lovely surprise. "

"We had a wonderful stay at The Scholar. The room was wonderful and very clean, the team was very polite and attentive (we received a wonderful hand written note as we were celebrating a special occasion, which was such a thoughtful touch!). It’s a 30 minute walk from the old town but the bus stop is right outside the hotel with regular buses. There was no mini fridge in the room, although we didn’t need it. Would definitely recommend."

"Good staff, if approached with a problem they did there best to fix it. However the hospitality team that delt woth the rooms (fresh towels, toilet roll etc.) Where very slow, last time we requested fresh towels in the morning to get a shower we didnt get them till a few hours later. The food was expensive, however very tasty and worth the price. Overall though they were good and would stay here agian."
