Likes: Proximity to North Bridge, great views, the gardens on Princes Street, numerous shops and places to eat, Waverley Train Station, The Royal Mile and the Scottish National Gallery The hotel allowed me into my room several hours early and very kindly did not charge me for checking out 1 hour later than the stated time I received help with my luggage which was appreciated. Good to find vegetarian and vegan food options but would have liked to see more fish on the menu (not seafood) e.g. salmon Huge bed was comfortable but pillows quite thin Good breakfast but there were a few surprising omissions - for example, I think no porridge Good lighting Reasonably priced and delicious cream tea Dislikes: I found it difficult to select the right TV channel when I wanted to watch a particular programme and found the Spanish? on screen offputting I couldn't find the Reset Button so didn't use the safe My room was not as colourful as shown in website photographs Absence of cushions on bed Small bathroom but decent size shower Towels were quite small Had to ask for a room service menu to be brought to my room Tasty and reasonably priced cream tea

Really nice hotel, central to everything, good transport links only thing to mention there is work going on in the Old Jennings building next door so you can hear work going on but it’s not disruptive

Hotel was conveniently located near train station and airport express bus and other points of interest. Staff were friendly and knowledgable. Walls were a little thin. Very clean and well appointed.

Its just an average hotel not special much and you need to pay some of your basics needs like slippers considering the price is expensive and the soundproofing is to poor you can hear the people next to the room and the cleaners while cleaning but the cleanliness is great and its walkable to train station and some sites

Great hotel, perfect view of the castle and Christmas markets however whilst facing the street obviously means some noise which I was perfectly okay with, the sound proofing between rooms isn’t the best. Generally the hotel and guests were quiet but housekeeping a bit noisy, and the room next to me was just a bunch of very young children who didn’t seem to have an adult in the room and they would jump and bang things all day and evening. Other than that the location is amazing and I will stay again!

Bedroom was very small. But comfortable enough for a short stay. Shower was small and water would run out onto the bathroom floor if water flow was opened up very much. But the location is great. Staff was friendly. It was everything we needed.

The bathroom was very narrow and the floor very cold. The only mirror in the bedroom (full length) was nowhere near a plug - not good for drying your hair - the dryer’s lead was not quite long enough. Do the people who approve layout ever try to use the rooms themselves? Otherwise it was adequate apart from breakfast which was good. Expensive stay for what it was.
