"We were very pleasantly surprised with our stay at the Red Lion. We were in a family room which was large. The bathroom was big too. Bed linen and towels were excellent. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. We had dinner in the evening and the food was really good. The staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere in the pub was so comfortable. We really cannot fault anything. There was plenty of car parking space. Value for money this stay was amazing. We would return for certain if we needed to stay in this area. Only 10 minutes off the M6. "

"Don't be put off by the fact that it's on an industrial estate! Excellent service, happy and efficient staff, comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. The grounds outside have been cleverly landscaped to disguise what's beyond."

"The property is very nice, clean and tidy that makes 100% the same as the pictures. It has all needed utensils and crockery so making dinner after a day. There is also a charcoal BBQ but we did not use. The host couples are very helpful. When we accidently turned off the boiler, they came and checked on us almost immediately. The location and check-in is so simple and hassle-free. There are few house types that we found out and so good to visit again with extended family. Wifi is stable and with good connection but you may require to login from time-to-time since hotspot is used. I never stayed in a holiday house which is so impressed especially the cost is not high. This is really worth of money."

"Ready at our ETA. Quick access (online check-in, key in door). Owner came to make sure we were OK, answered our questions, told us where he was (next door) in case we had a problem (we didn't). Didn't bother us again. We had the small Dairy Cottage - plenty of room for the two of us - but patio doors straight onto the big garden which the other cottages didn't seem to have. We sat outside a lot just having a cup of tea and looking around at greenery. It's hypnotic. We didn't want for anything. Every home comfort was provided. We had some nice walks but, if you're looking for food, turn right at the canal bridge towards Leo's. Turn left and you end up at a dismal pub that advertises food outside and inside but doesn't do it. We were told 'kitchen closed' at our lunchtime visit but reviews suggest it hasn't done food for a few years. My only suggestion for Martin Lane Holiday Cottages? Update the guest information folder. Otherwise an excellent short break and we would certainty go back."

"Beautiful accommodation very clean and in a lovely quiet area but with nice walks. Fully equiped for a short break or longer stay. Plenty of extras ie welcome basket Supplies for using dishwasher and washing machine. Confortable beds and sitting room area. Owners easy to contact. Would highly reccomend. "

"We went to stay with friends for a couple of nights to catch up and see more friends nearby. We had a wonderful time. Amy made us feel really welcome through her messages in advance and we really appreciated the welcome basket of goodies she had left for us. The cottage was beautiful, clean, and everything we needed. The log fired hot tub was a real treat and we barely left the cottage the whole time, except to walk round the locks and back. Highly recommended and excellent value for money. We will be back!"
