"I was visiting NYC for work. The location was great- walkable from my arrival by train and walkable to where I was working ( near the UN building) but also to sites like Columbus Circle, Times Square and to Broadway shows/theaters. Very clean with needed amenities such as hangers ( most places do not have sufficient numbers), hair dryer ( one that really worked!), good internet, etc. Bare bones furniture ( bed, desk and chair) but I knew that prior to arrival. When I travel to NYC, I don't spend my day in the hotel room- I want to be out and about. Excellent value for price. Will book again for both business and pleasure trips to NYC."

"My favourite hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia is the Sylvia Hotel, which was built in 1912 and has been updated… the Westgate reminds me of the Sylvia… the windows that open are wonderful to enjoy the sounds of New York and fresh air… the beds are very comfortable… the staff are very helpful and accommodating… I was doing business at the United Nations and the Westgate is a block up the street to the west from the UN…"
