The hotel is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and outgoing, the facilities are clean, and the rooms are wonderful. Our experience with the hotel was fantastic! HOWEVER, the biggest nuisance problem for us all around the hotel, the Times Square area, and the Theatre District area was the stench of nonstop marijuana smoke. I get it; people claim it's medicinal. But give the nonsmoker a break; it was absolutely ridiculous.

Location was great. However, did not have a good experience checking in and checking out. We checked in late around 1am. System was down due to a reboot and had to wait about 25 min then another 30 minutes just to get our room. They had no more rooms with 2 beds even though that is what I paid for. Staff was rude and said because it was after midnight we don’t hold it. He also said you didn’t tell us you were going to be late. I didn’t think I had too. I paid for the room already. Anyway, Finally got a room then got $40 credit for each day but he never explained where it can and cant be used. When we checked out staff said we only used it once and I said no I used it every day at the one store they had and he showed me a card and said it states here you can’t use it there. I never got that card. Then he went on to say I’m sure they explained to you and I said no they didn’t. He was rude and said well maybe because it was 1am you don’t remember. I said no your employee didn’t tell me. I’m on CA time so it was technically only 9pm to me. Anyway manager gave me credit and employee had to say we won’t do this again if you stay with us. He have me receipt and didn’t t say a word. I had to ask are we done and he shook his head yes and looked down. I just said thank you and walked away. I’m your guest no need to be rude. The beds were not that comfortable either. Won’t stay here again.

We love the Marriott Marquis! The only reason for the 4 star is if you wake before 6 am they have no coffee in the hotel for guests. Husband had to walk a block to get a cup of coffee.

The staff in the restaurant and bar were very friendly and accommodating. Great attention to their customers. Great location for theaters and other attractions. Only negative was our room was not very soundproof and we could hear the other guests in the rooms next to ours. Clean.
