"The hotel is great. Very clean and has an elevated contemporary feel for the price. Check in was phenomenal with a special shout out to Sam, who was fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and although the food was excellent and the staff really lovely, it was clear that they were very short staffed, as it took ages to order, I waited 30 minutes for my drink, and the food took a very long time to arrive. "If you book the family room, be aware that there is a step right after you walk in. My elderly mother fell twice, hitting the bed as she landed on the floor. Aside from this, the breakfast is excellent and the location is great. "

"If you’re on a budget and still want to be well located for a Brighton getaway this hotel is perfect. As you walk in the reception desk is on your left and a very cozy bar is straight ahead. Very nice and professional staff. I got a sea view double and the staff put me in 419 which is apparently the nicest sea view room. It’s a nice but basic double room with a flatscreen tv, coffee / tea area, wardrobe, desk etc. the floors are a bit uneven but that seems to be the theme in this old hotel....

"Very old hotel , so not in pristine condition, but if it were it would lose its character. It’s the oldest hotel in Brighton. Very clean and the staff were lovely, particularly the young lady in the restaurant this morning (15/5). Will definitely be returning "

A great choice of hotel for a lower budget hotel.

"If you’re on a budget and still want to be well located for a Brighton getaway this hotel is perfect. As you walk in the reception desk is on your left and a very cozy bar is straight ahead. Very nice and professional staff. I got a sea view double and the staff put me in 419 which is apparently the nicest sea view room. It’s a nice but basic double room with a flatscreen tv, coffee / tea area, wardrobe, desk etc. the floors are a bit uneven but that seems to be the theme in this old hotel. The shower was a rain shower which felt amazing after a cold walk on the beach. All in all it was a very comfortable and pleasurable stay, on my last night we stayed up in the bare top maybe 3am, bar stays open til the last resident goes to bed. Note - checkout is at 11am but if you like a later checkout you can delay your departure for £7.50 per hour, latest checkout is 2pm. I have Amy’s to leave at 1pm so I paid £15. You have to arrange and pay for this before or on the last night of your stay. "
