We usually stay in the same chain but by the station but chose this hotel for a change. The room we were initially checked in to was very tired, stains on the carpet and threadbare, bath smashed in on the side, black mold on the bathroom. We asked to change room and the staff were more than accomodating and upgraded our room to a sea view. However even the exec rooms, whilst better are still quite tired, nothing outstanding. It was noted that as an expedia vip member this hotel are meant to upgrade automatically if they have the available rooms, clearly they don't or we should have been given the exec room at check in. Breakfast was good. The area around the hotel, is pretty grotty. Rooms were clean but really need some maintenance. Fine for 1 night but not in a hurry to return.
