"A wonderful Hotel just slightly away from the centre of York, but very, very walkable from the station and anywhere you might like to visit. The staff were engaging, wonderfully helpful, the room was perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again in the future. Other touches like the "Pantry" and convenient onsite parking made it a real joy to stay."

"Lovely historic building in a private gated courtyard off high street shopping area. Despite the busy streets outside, our room was very quiet. Staff were always helpful. Because of it being a 1700s building, there is no lift so be prepared for a narrow winding staircase to access most rooms."

"Lovely hotel, well kept and good service. Stayed in a deluxe room, spacious and everything as you’d expect. Only critique would be that the bed was two singles pushed together with a noticeable gap in the middle rather than the advertised “super king”. The room was also adjacent a stairwell which was quite noisy at times and adjoining what I assume was a staff area and also quite noisy."
