"What a lovely quiet area with lots of walks but close to towns and villages with things to do and see. The grounds were well looked after and usable by our dog as was a good part of the restaurant. The 2 crowning glories though were: the food which was of a high standard being well cooked and presented and the staff who were really welcoming and friendly throughout, knowlegeable about the food on offer and well paced with the ordering and delivery of the food. "Wonderful experience staying a Standbrook Abbey. Great to see around the historic features of the hotel. The room upgrade was massive with 4 poster bed and roll-top bath as well as a 2 person shower. Had afternoon tea as well as an evening meal and really enjoyed both. Will definitely return if in the area."

"An old farm house with small guest rooms and very nice sitting areas on the main floor. Good location but a little tricky to find as it is very close to the roundabout and the Blue Bell Farm sign is small and easy to miss. "

"Hotel is in need of modernisation very old and tatty furniture, hair in bath plug from previous guest, no soap, shower gel in bathroom you have to pay if you want it and at £134 a night i expect at least soap to wash your hands. Just a shame as it’s a perfect location but the hotel needs some renovations. "
