"The condition of the building is tired. All the sash windows had broken sash chords. The heating on a cold night was barely adequate - I got into a comfortable and clean bed to keep warm. There are 2 rooms that adjoin the main stairs, and both get all the noise from downstairs through the evening and specially later on as voice's get louder after a few bevvies have been consumed.
