"This is the second time I have stayed here visiting family. Overall nice property but there was an issue with guests from Mainland China. They were loud, drunk, rude, and made thenstay less enjoyable. This hotel should review it's travel partners and better vet the groups coming in. The area is good but too many Gaijin tourists who are ruining Kyoto with there boorish behavior. I feel sorry for the locals."

"Overall this was good value. Rooms are small but well designed. Bed was a decent size with enough room for two pillows side by side (although unfortunately only one pillow is provided). Some people don't understand the concept of being quiet in the sleeping area despite the various signs advising them of it; whilst this isn't the hotel's fault, I think the curtains that separate the rooms serve very little use other than preventing others seeing into the room. "This is our first time staying at ryokan style hotel and we love this hotel. It is not the best looking interior (lobby and hallways) but the accommodation and experience will make your stay great. They even have a small sento at the basement for the guests. They offer breakfast but we didn’t have it because we usually leave before the breakfast was served. Other things we like is it is very close to public transportation, both bus and trains. Restaurants and convenient stores are just few steps...
