"This is the second time I have stayed here visiting family. Overall nice property but there was an issue with guests from Mainland China. They were loud, drunk, rude, and made thenstay less enjoyable. This hotel should review it's travel partners and better vet the groups coming in. The area is good but too many Gaijin tourists who are ruining Kyoto with there boorish behavior. I feel sorry for the locals."

"Overall this was good value. Rooms are small but well designed. Bed was a decent size with enough room for two pillows side by side (although unfortunately only one pillow is provided). Some people don't understand the concept of being quiet in the sleeping area despite the various signs advising them of it; whilst this isn't the hotel's fault, I think the curtains that separate the rooms serve very little use other than preventing others seeing into the room. In other similar hotels I've seen...

"A humble Kyoto experience! Many local traditions were highlighted during our stay, from the traditional breakfast, futon bedding and friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel amenities, including the onsen. The hotel was located very close to the Nishiki market and shopping districts, as well as train and bus stops close to major attractions (eg Fushimi Inari). We recommend staying here for a true cultural experience in the heart of the action in Kyoto!"
