"Beautiful and comfortable Ryokan. Super comfy beds, serene rooms, great water pressure and thoughtful japanese breakfast. Easy walk to main part of Gion, and well connected by taxi/uber to all of Kyoto. Highly recommend!"

"This was an amazing place! We had never stayed in a Royal con before, and very glad we chose this location. The owners were extremely friendly, and the room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the traditional breakfast, and access to the public bath (a must try experience). I highly recommend this hotel.!"

"Staff went far beyond what we expected. Every single person was always accommodating and helpful. The room was magnificent. In hindsight I think a regular tub would have been enough. The huge ceramic outside tub was beautiful, but being from California and drought conditions I felt guilty filling up the huge tub every night. "Super unique experience off the beaten path to stay in a beautiful Ryokan. Would be great for a value with larger families, but be prepared to understand the busses or get a taxi, not a ton to do in the immediate area. On the other hand, staff was nice, limited but plenty of English with my terrible Japanese. Food was excellent and beautifully plated. Rooms were truly amazing, one of my favorite things on my travels."

"Although the room appeared small for 4 travellers with luggage it was perfectly big enough. The futons were extremely comfortable but wish I had more pillows. The bathroom was large but not necessary with the bathhouse included in the stay! The bathhouse was one of the highlights of my Japan trip. "This is a fantastic little hotel that gives one a taste of the traditional Ryokan experience. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, especially Pierre-san at the front desk. "A very nice place to stay for vacation. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious and clean. Just walk one block to the bus station and two block to the subway station. The buses are reaching to the temples and Kyoto station. No need to transfer. Very convenient."
