"This was our favourite hotel of our trip. The outside is fairly grand, although it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There is a couple of convenience stores within a ten-minute walk, but not really any restaurants we could see. There are other grand hotels in the vicinity. "This is the second time I have stayed here visiting family. Overall nice property but there was an issue with guests from Mainland China. They were loud, drunk, rude, and made thenstay less enjoyable. This hotel should review it's travel partners and better vet the groups coming in. The area is good but too many Gaijin tourists who are ruining Kyoto with there boorish behavior. I feel sorry for the locals."

"There were some stains on the bed skirt (looked like lipstick) and some dust between the sheets. But overall very clean. Front desk was availabile 24hrs and were very helpful and resourceful. Very nice and big room."

"Overall this was good value. Rooms are small but well designed. Bed was a decent size with enough room for two pillows side by side (although unfortunately only one pillow is provided). Some people don't understand the concept of being quiet in the sleeping area despite the various signs advising them of it; whilst this isn't the hotel's fault, I think the curtains that separate the rooms serve very little use other than preventing others seeing into the room.
