"It was not as nice in reality as in the pictures. It was OK though. Basically clean. The light in the bathroom did not work. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I slept very well there. The area was inconvenient, far away from the centre of town, so that you are dependent on taxis to get around. The taxi drivers are good though and charged a fair price. I never felt ripped off by them. While the area did not feel overtly unsafe, it was pretty grungey, not the best part of town. Were I to visit Bacalar again, I'd probably look for somewhere else to stay because of this hotel's isolated location. "

"The views from our balcony made our stay. Yes the hotel could use some upgrades but we had a multi-bed apt for a fair price, perfect for our family, and we were happy. "

"Great stay, great location and great amenities. Kayaks and Paddle boards included which makes it great to not have to book another activity on the lagoon. Front staff very helpful and happy to give you all the tools to get by by yourself around town"
