"A great location for our family group. Staff was welcoming and unfailingly pleasant throughout. Enjoyed the food options. Favorite buffet for breakfast and lunch was the beach cove. Pools were lovely but the beach cove stood out with plenty of shade for lounging, shallows for the kids and fun snorkeling. Enjoyed seeing the wildlife (though discovered the monkeys know how to open the sliding balcony door to scout for food —had to keep it locked!) Appreciated how the buildings and facilities felt nestled into natural surroundings; walking from one place to another was a treat (but also caught a lift whenever we wanted on the electric carts). Would definitely go there again!"

"Beautiful resort, friendly staff, food was great, currently a lot of construction and improvements made the walk back to the room quite long. They had shuttles running but that was the only concern. Would love to go back once the improvements were done."

"For our first time in Playa del Carmen, we couldn't have asked for a better hotel. On one side, you have the beach access within a 2min walk and, on the other side, 5th ave is less than 2mins walk. The rooftop terrace has beautiful views and a proper vibe since you have people from outside the hotel that come to party. The dining options were top notch! We found ourselves dining at the restaurants of the hotel more than on the strip because of how good it was. I highly recommend getting the all-inclusive meals drinks, well worth your buck. Overall, great experience."

"Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort was excellent overall. The property was very clean and every staff member was very friendly and accommodating. One of the main pools and gym was closed which wasn’t disclosed at check in. Food at buffets was good, but the actual few restaurants they have are better, however it was very hard to get a reservation due to the fact that the link opened up at 8am, and everyone tries to go on at the same time and book a slot, the spots are very limited and almost impossible to get. Drinks were good, not watered down and bartenders very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of daytime pool activities. Beaches were nice but small. The room was nice and clean, and the staff did a great job of keeping everything stocked and ready for us. Bed was comfortable and towels were provided as well, at our service."
