"Nicely renovated motel. Would return if in area again. Check in and out was a breeze. Friendly staff. ROOM: • Adequately sized for 2 adults and 1 dog. • Clean and tidy thought looks a little worn down in some areas (bathroom). • Barnyard sliding door for bathroom not desirable — no privacy! :( • Keurig, mini fridge, and microwave. 👍 • A/C unit needs to be replaced eventually, did not work half the time but we visited during winter so it was not a big deal. • We requested and were accommodated a room away from the pool that was facing the back parking lot. Day time was active w/ the campers at the RV sister property, but we did not mind, as it quieted down by evening. PARKING/LOCATION: • Plentiful. Easy to get in and out. • Location is not exactly pretty (next to freeway/gas station) but convenient. • Downtown Solvang is a 2 min drive. Chumash casino about 15 min. • We returned to our room around midnight and it was dead quiet even the hotel had a lot of occupants. • Dog relief area clean and conveniently located in the back parking lot area. LOUNGE/BAR: • Attentive, polite staff. • Good, strong drinks. • Nice decor, cozy size. • Crowd was middle aged 40 with what appeared to be some locals (good sign). Maybe younger crowds on the weekends. • Closes a little early at 10pm. Would have liked to have some drinks before turning in but no biggie we drank at the casino. "
