"Good impression. Good location. There were 6 in our group and we all had beds and it was close to the Eel River. Only one issue: a dog came to the front door each night and barked and barked."

"The house was as advertised. It's a very large 4 bedroom home. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, glasses, etc. There were plenty of towels and the washer/dryer was a bonus. The street was very quiet and we felt very safe there. It was easy to get around Eureka from that location."

"This is a comfortable and nicely appointed house in a quiet neighborhood. There are thoughtful touches like a fan, extra bedding and towels and a well appointed kitchen with basic condiments in the fridge. We will definitely return on future visits. "

"I injured my knee the evening before I was to drive up to King Salmon, so was unable to enjoy Shell Cottage, and too late for any refund! I had stayed previously however, and it was lovely; hence my desire to return."

"The house was located in a good spot for our trips to see the redwoods. It was very clean. There were good restaurants in the area. We enjoyed going just outside of town to a farm with a pumpkin patch. The only downside to the house was that there is not a good, comfortable chair to sit in and read. It would also be nice to have a chair in the bedroom. Instructions for the TV would also be helpful."

" Centrally located and within walking distance to the zoo. We contributed to Eureka’s economy, went to some beautiful beaches and an art gallery. Left before the earthquake, thank goodness. Nice large house with many rooms. Lots of kitchenware. Felt very safe. Beautiful redwoods all around. Had a good time. "

"Five of us were signed up to do the Humboldt 1/2 marathon and 5k. We were so happy to find a house with 2 bathrooms as most listings in the area showed only one. We are an adventurous group and didn’t mind the trek to the house in the dark. For those less bold arrival in daylight might be recommended . All in all we found the house was well suited for our needs. The wrap around deck was amazing. We found lots to do in the area and had a great dinner at the Benbow Inn. We would have liked...

"The property is just as pictured. Simple, clean and fit our needs. Easy check in. Could use another lamp in the living room otherwise no complaints. I would stay there again."

"This house was perfectly located to traverse the redwoods along Northern California coast. Used it to tour Avenue of Giants while heading out to the ocean, too. House was very comfortable and well equipped for our family. Had a lot of local tourism literature to help guide our trip. Great to come back to in evening after full day of outdoor adventures. "
