"Small hotel but very comfortable. The superior exclusive room was spacious and the bathroom very nice. The room was very comfortable. We did have to ask for a kettle though. The gym was disappointing as it had very little facilities and was outdated. I didnt try the pool area but whilst small it seemed adequate for the area. The breakfast reastaurant had a nice atmosphere with a great view on the avenue but the food selection and quality was disappointing. Overall for the hotel standards in Brazil, it was an acceptable 5-star."

"I left a long review on Google but this property is amazing. I originally was only staying here for 5 days and was leaving to another area in Rio. I left after 5 days and stayed 1 day at another property and returned back to Hotel Nacionale. The employees, service, hospitality, safety, proximity to everything cannot be compared anywhere else. Stayed another 4 days at Hotel Nacionale and sooo grateful I did! I will never stay anywhere else! "
