"The hotel is up the hill away from the madness of the beach and downtown areas, but still a 15 minute walk to the heart of Gavea and a 15 minute cab ride (download Uber or app called "99" before you go!) to Ipanema and Leblon. "POSITIVES Absolutely beautiful view from the room. Very spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Staff in the kitchen/servers were so kind to our son. Wifi did not work in our room but staff went above and beyond to have it repaired for us. NEGATIVES A bit awkward at check in. It appeared staff did not know we had a reservation and I had to prove/show our reservation email several times on my phone which was not the smoothest check in after a long day of travel. "

However, it is isolated in streets that are not safe at night; all travel to and from has to be done by Uber.I Only breakfast is provided; all other food has to be ordered online and delivered, although the staff are willing to do the ordering. Breakfast is also served very late - not till 9am. And the room was not cleaned during my stay - apparently I had to ask for this. It was billed as a 4 star hotel but...
