"We stayed at Corto Maltes for a week, starting 7/8/13, room 204. The place has "good bones" but needs some upkeep to be really top-notch. A new coat of paint would be a start. This is a condo that is rented out by the owners and managed by the staff at El Faro - those folks were pleasant but did not solve some of the issues that needed attention. "Beautiful balcony to relax on and enjoy the fabulous view. Everything we needed was there, the lagoon is great for kayaking and swimming, and the owner was a delight. We highly recommend this unit and would definitely go back. We enjoyed outings to nearby Yal Ku for snorkeling and Xpu Ha beach where the locals go. A day trip to the ruins and cenotes at Coba was worth the journey, and the shrimp tacos at Kaab Hotel in Coba were the best we've ever had."
