Centrella Hotel, A Kirkwood Collection Hotel

3.5 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (1000)
"This older property is located near to the main dining and shopping area of Pacific Grove. Parking can be problematic due to narrow streets and closely packed residences. The rooms are adequately sized but due to age of building, floors and doors are a little creaky. No soundproofing of course but guests were not noisy during our visit. No staffing after 9 p.m. until morning is unfortunate. It is however, a slice of local history nicely preserved for this coastal town."

Asilomar Conference Grounds

2.0 star property
7.6 out of 10, Good, (1000)
"Asilomar is in a wonderful location and charges a very reasonable amount to stay there. The staff seems friendly and very efficient. The bed and lighting and carpet were all terrific. But the sinks in our bathroom did not operate properly at all and are in desperate need of replacement — pretty surprising really, The slower operated ok but the tub itself is really old with stains and needs to be replaced. I know it’s all about the money but they desperately need to upgrade their facility...

"We’ve stayed here several times and it’s always comfortable and quiet and good location. We did notice the wall heater was loud when it went on, which I never notice in warmer weather. But all in all, a good value for a nice no frills stay. "

"Very charming Victorian centrally located to everything in Pacific Grove. Pacific Grove is an extremely safe community but extra safe when you're across the street from the Police Department! Check-in was a breeze, room was spacious and clean. We stayed in a premium Queen which had a small seperate room with a single twin bed that gave everyone a bit more privacy. Perfect for working late on my computer while my kid slept. This hotel only had about 6 units, so it was really quiet and peaceful in...
