"Chuoukan Shimizuya Ryokan is a historical building in a convenient location. It is a 10 minute walk to the famous Zenkōji Temple and only 1 minute from the locals' favourite ramen and tonkatsu. However, the highlight of this Ryokan are the hosts. They made every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable, despite the language barrier. I strongly recommend staying at Chuoukan Shimizuya Ryokan if you value culture and coziness."

"We had an amazing stay at Masuya. We chose the Japanese-style room with a private onsen, which was amazing. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very spacious, clean, and beautiful. "Clean, quiet & a very cute location without tourists and crowds. My family enjoyed the serenity after spending 2 days in Tokyo and very close to snow monkey park allowing us to be the first ones there. Def recommend!!"

"Singaporean family of 6, hard to fault anything. Most staff can speak basic English and attention is rendered to all appopriately, young and old. Onsen has different pool and some are not just warm enough for young kids to soak and enjoy. Food great Sleep mattress is Beauty Rest, futon might be alittle too thin for me but good for all kids. "

"The staff is welcoming and kind, this is a family run business for 6 generations! The half board breakfast and dinner are exceptional, kaiseki style and every dish is presented beautifully. The location is right on the ometesando, lots of foot traffic but quiet. Futons are comfortable. We loved our stay and want to go back!"
