"Cozy, well maintained hotel 5 mins walk from Happo terminal. Very clean, with onsen which is great after a day of skiing! Guests who stayed there were all very respectful and more family oriented. "Chuoukan Shimizuya Ryokan is a historical building in a convenient location. It is a 10 minute walk to the famous Zenkōji Temple and only 1 minute from the locals' favourite ramen and tonkatsu. However, the highlight of this Ryokan are the hosts. They made every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable, despite the language barrier. I strongly recommend staying at Chuoukan Shimizuya Ryokan if you value culture and coziness."

"Clean, quiet & a very cute location without tourists and crowds. My family enjoyed the serenity after spending 2 days in Tokyo and very close to snow monkey park allowing us to be the first ones there. Def recommend!!"

Onsen has different pool and some are not just warm enough for young kids to soak and enjoy. Food great Sleep mattress is Beauty Rest, futon might be alittle too thin for me but good for all kids. "
