"The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Ibsen was well equipped and clean. I liked the indoor and outdoor options. Food was amazing. I would recommend adding the half board to your reservation. Transportation to station and ski resort was seamless. "

"The staff make for a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left staff were attentive. We enjoyed an in room with indoor onsen for two nights. The restaurant meal offerings are authentic Japanese and wonderfully presented. One of the highlights of our two week trip to Japan. We took the bus to the local castle and art museum. "The nicest staff I have ever had. Everyone was extremely pleasant, spoke English well, and was willing to help you with anything. I very highly recommend this place to anyone! The traditional ryokan was a fun way to experience Japanese cultural and the staff was extremely happy and gracious to help us through anything we didn’t know."

"The staff is welcoming and kind, this is a family run business for 6 generations! The half board breakfast and dinner are exceptional, kaiseki style and every dish is presented beautifully. The location is right on the ometesando, lots of foot traffic but quiet. Futons are comfortable. We loved our stay and want to go back!"

"Great spot away from the busy Tokyo area. The rooms and the hotel is special in its own way and has a lot of character. Felt like being in my grandparents home. Really enjoyed staying here and it made it incredibly easy to walk to and from the train station to get bus tickets. Would definitely tell friends to stay here in the future. "

"Wonderful stay! I was a solo traveler staying in hakuba for the snowboarding and I met new friends during my stay at this hotel! Theres a nice community lounge where people get warm and share stories about their day! Its also a 13min walk from Skyline Gondola and has many bars, restaurants, and food truck along the way!"

"Nice location and off the beaten path. An easy 15 minute drive to most things we wanted to see; zoo, central Nagano, Nagano station. Easy parking, nice relaxing hot bath on balcony. It was an older Ryoken but maintained and Friendly staff. "

"If you’d like to experience an authentic ryokan with onsen and terrific kaiseki dining this place is a good choice. Although the facilities show some wear and tear, overall it’s clean and adequately maintained. The staff ensure guests feel welcomed and taken care of. I would stay again. "
