"The staff is amazing and extremely helpful. Our cabin overlooked the trees with birds galore. Plenty of trails around the property with a fish hatchery, flowers, fruit, etc. we opted for breakfast the first day but didn’t realize we were to tell them on the next day. Not sure what happened. Defiant would stay again. Pool was freezing so we couldn’t enjoy it very much when we were there. "

"As a female traveller, I felt completely safe here and would definitely stay again if I'm ever back in Monteverde. Great place for a solo traveller with a communal kitchen to help keep down expenses of eating out. WiFi in all the rooms. Staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful 😊 My only complaint would be the floors in my room hadn't been cleaned (but in fairness it's a 2 star hostel, not a 5 star hotel). "Relaxing, peaceful and attractive hotel. Loved the atrium, garden and dining areas. Beds and linen are very comfortable. Also found the stream off our patio very relaxing. Only negative is that you can hear people in hallway and through the bathroom vent."

"We checked in on the last afternoon. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by howler monkeys in the parking lot! Just hanging out above the cars, in the trees. It was a very cool sight. The reception clerk was very friendly and informative about the property and things to do in the area. Including walking the hotels wilderness trail that's right on the property. "Beautiful location, stunning mountain views and the clouds just roll on in to your balcony. Walking distance to some cool places and restaurants. They have a good shuttle service to the forest. Only feedback is some of the staffs attitudes, 2 of the employees were helpful, friendly and kind. The rest seemed snobby and almost judgemental. Could've been 5 stars if it weren't for that. We were WELL AWARE of our checkout time, yet walked by the front desk and stated we are going to pack. 5 minutes...

"Lovely clean place, lovely staff and away from the street sounds. But the stairs to my room were really steep and the mattress was the old spring type. I just couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep on it. I managed to put my pillows in a line to sleep a bit. The weather was perfectly cool even with the late afternoon rain. For transportation, walk to the City Central and get a taxi there because It's cheaper that way. (No Uber so far away from city). I had a lovely short stay. "
