"Barcelo Palace is located in a huge bay that is home to sea turtles, sting rays, baracuda, lobsters, and all kinds of fish. Snorkeling from the shore is amazing. They have many activities that you may participate in. Some are extra $, but many are free. If you book a premium room, access to the hydrotherapy spa is included daily. The sailboats are available for everyone to use. If you're not sure how to sail, a guide will go with you - Manuel was our favorite. There are many restaurants to choose from. All 3 in the palace are wonderful. Other favorites include the habachis at Tokyo and Kyoto. At Kyoto, Chef Augusto was very entertaining! The morning meals are buffet style, also delicious! One waiter stood out - Omar made sure are coffee and water glasses were always full. If yiu are interested in cenotes, there are 5 right the main highway. In all, it's a wonderful spot!"

" It is a little house in the jungle is the title say, and of course belongs to a property that has a big house and more facilities around. There is also a tippy on the property and cenotes … it’s beautiful. I didn’t have a car , there is a five minutes walk to the highway where youtake a ‘ collectivo’ that is an air conditioned van that takes you to places along the highway for a small fee. Used mostly by local people. The same if you want to go to the beach, you take the collectivo. This is the only inconvenience, it’s not on a walking distance. The only close by public beaches are at Xpu Ha. All the other beaches are private with a hotel, etc. Same for eating out, you need to go to Puerto Aventuras with your collectivo. This is a nice place with lots of restaurants, parks. I also booked one day tours to : 1.Chechen Itza, the Mayan pyramids. 2.Swimming with a turtles another day 3.And to Xcaret park and show. All these trips were spectacular. The organizer will pick you up from your location, so no problem if you don’t have a car. I enjoy my trip immensely!💞 "

"Our family of four had a wonderful 8-day stay this month at Dreams Puerto Aventuras. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly, and helpful. Our rooms were spacious and clean, there were several restaurant options (no reservations required), and a beautiful beach area. The pools were also clean and well maintained. Outside the property is a marina with multiple restaurants and shops, all within walking distance, and we felt safe walking through the entire area with our children. The only caveat I would give to prospective guests is this (and this is no fault of the Dreams staff, just something to be aware of): we were offered an option to tour another Hyatt resort in the area - in exchange, we were told we would get breakfast at the other resort, a tour of Tulum afterwards, and two tickets to Xel-Ha to use another day. Dreams staff did tell us "they'll try to sell you something," so we thought we had an idea of what we were walking into. We figured we could handle sitting through a high-pressure sales pitch in order to get a couple of tickets and save $300. This was the first time we'd ever done something like this so maybe this is the norm, but it was wild and so, so uncomfortable. I'm limited in characters here, so I'll summarize by saying it wasn't the 90min tour we were told we were taking - it took us 3 1/2 HOURS to get away from the Hyatt Vacation Club sales staff and get them to agree to let us leave. Not worth the $300 in tickets we were given. "

"Pool and natural water oil could use some cleaning, especially the natural pool, too much algae to get in the steps, but can view some tropical fish. The included breakfast was good."
