"It is self check in and there is a storage place for our luggage as we arrived around 1pm. This hotel is very close to the train station. There are lots of food options at the train station. Our room is kind of small for 2 adults with 2 luggage but we will manage. The room is clean. The staff are very helpful. "

"One of the best place to experience outdoor onsen at 1800m up in the mountain. Not a lot to do outside winter season if you do not drive. The surrounding is beautiful and an hour drive away from the Snow Monkey Park."

"A great location 15min walking distance to Jr Station. Very nice and clean. Plenty of drink bending machine, cup noodles and coin laundry downstairs. We skipped breakfast service and opted for outside instead. Thoroughly recommended. "

"Mr. Yamoto was great as was his wife. If you are looking for a place to sleep for the night on your way to the snow monkeys, this traditional hotel is great. They will take you to the monkeys and provide you with galoshes for the hike. The property is dated though, with some features in disrepair. "It was our first time to this area, we chose Ryuoo upon recommendation from a Japanese friend. Very nice Western-style hotel at Ryuoo ski resort. We were in the King Suite, a 2 bedroom/2 bath with a living room. Super spacious, modern living. It is located a very short walk to the base & ticket office. "This was great value for a hotel room right beside Nagano Station. I was surprised when entering the lobby by how nice the hotel was, since what I paid would have been for a budget hotel.
