"Wonderful historic property that has been updated and has both warmth and style. The staff pampered my family and introduced us to Ecuadorian new year traditions on the rooftop terrace with the other guests that was a memorable and unexpected way to ring in the new year. The restaurant is a fabulous showcase of Ecuadorian cuisine and excellent cocktails and fine wine. First class in every respect. I recommend without reservation."

"Such a beautiful place to stay. We couldn't have asked for better service. Two mornings we had to leave very early and a breakfast was provided for us. We needed some specific transporation and we had it. We wanted a few unique tours and we got them. We needed a room change (due to aging knees), and we got it. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to also just hang out and play cards and relax inbetween our adventures."

"Wantara is a little haven in the city--- unique gardens, tastefully designed apartments (they thought of everything---including really comfy down pillows and duvets), and a good location with easy access to historic Quito. But the real treasures are the hosts. Both Wolfgang and Yannick were not only hosts but instant friends looking our for us---there to help navigate the city and give us great advice about how to best spend our time. "We loved our week in Quito. Yannik, Gina, Wolfgang and Annemarie answered all of our questions about where to go and what to see. They arranged a driver (Cristobal - 5 stars!) to take us to see places outside of the city and made sure we got back from the soccer game safely! With everything going on in Ecuador, we never felt unsafe on our trip. Thank you!"

"This place is beautiful, well kept, and clean. We felt so fortunate to meet the friendly and helpful owners, Wolfgang and Annemarie. What a pleasant surprise that was! I’m a wheelchair user (I can walk some) and would hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who has difficulty walking. The entrance is not wheelchair friendly and the most accessible room is multilevel without hand rails."

"We stayed in Suite Luna at Wantara. The pics were very accurate, the suite was exceptionally clean, the outdoor areas were a quiet oasis in the city, and the gated entrance felt very secure. We enjoyed the bakery at the top of the street and the dining suggestions from Marcelo. It was only a short walk 10 mins walk to old town or a $2.00 cab ride. Cheers, David & JoAnne"
