"The Casa Gangotena was perfection! The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff was gracious and attentive. We stayed in a very comfortable, large room with a spectacular view of the Plaza de San Francisco. We enjoyed breakfast and a wonderful dinner at the hotel and loved that the menu included local cuisine. Plus, the prices were reasonable - we would have easily paid twice as much at home for a meal of the same caliber. You also shouldn't miss a late afternoon cocktail on the rooftop!"

However, it would be nice if the wifi worked a bit better in the rooms further away from the common room area and if the hot water was reliable. We took a handful of icy showers. "

"This inexpensive hotel was recommended by a local. It is in the old area of Quito on the border of where you want to walk in the evening and where you don't. The rooms are large and comfortable, the breakfast is very good and the hotel has several "chill out" areas to relax, including a nice garden, as well as a play room with ping pong and a big screen tv. The service was great!"
