"The Casa Gangotena was perfection! The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff was gracious and attentive. We stayed in a very comfortable, large room with a spectacular view of the Plaza de San Francisco. We enjoyed breakfast and a wonderful dinner at the hotel and loved that the menu included local cuisine. Plus, the prices were reasonable - we would have easily paid twice as much at home for a meal of the same caliber. You also shouldn't miss a late afternoon cocktail on the rooftop!"

We had a morning checkout prior to a midnight flight back to the US, but when I felt ill later (altitude plus maybe some suspect shrimp at dinner), they lent me a room, gratis, to lie down in all afternoon while the others went out in search of the Basilica and artisanal chocolate. "I spent 1 night at this hotel before the start of my trip. It's in a good location in the historic centre next to the church and around the corner is a street filled with bars and restaurants that comes alive at night. My room was small but comfortable with a good sized bathroom with lots of hot water. There was also a TV in my room .I would definitely stay again. I missed the free breakfast cause my tour started so early the next morning. This hotel also has free wifi."

Arrived middle of the day and had to wait nearly an hour ringing the bell and having the cab driver call the posted number before getting in. No hot water and was charged twice.
