Kyoto Ohara Ryokan Seryo

4.0 star property
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (84)
"Wow! What an incredible stay! Probably the best experience of our entire trip to Japan. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, even showing us different local matcha varieties used during the meals. If you are visiting Kyoto on your trip to Japan, I would HIGHLY recommend staying at this property for the full Ryokan experience, equipped with a beautiful Onsen, Yukata, and local shrines in Ohara. 10/10"

Ohara no Sato

3.0 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very Good, (233)
"the location was in a really quiet beautiful area near beautiful temples, it’s a nice walk, and the staff were nice and accommodating. loved that dinner and breakfast was also included, although some rooms had communal washrooms which is not good. to go the hotel is also a hike up, and latest check in is before 8 pm. we had a leaking faucet, and the rooms are really cold at night, but they do provide heaters and warm clothes."

3.0 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (136)
"The level of attention of their customer service by the staff to me and my girlfriend was amazing and in a way, heart warming. For example, they knew we liked to face the garden while eating so they setup the table that way. Another example is, they knew I loved boiled eggs so instead of asking every morning they prepared it for me. These little small attention to details and the kindness of the staff, the wonderful food, the beautiful scenery and amazing onsen made my trip unforgettable. "

Hotel Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa

2.5 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (7)
"This small hotel is perfect in every way. The room was surprisingly spacious relative to Japanese rooms, and the fall foliage from our balcony was lovely. But it was the sweetness of the staff that we will most remember. When an Uber failed to show, the manager came out and hailed a taxi for us. As we were leaving, I paused about a half block away to check Google maps; my wife noticed that the hotel staff that was seeing us of, remained outside to make sure that we were OK. What a lovely way to...

Kamo Residences by Reflections

5.0 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (31)
"Staying at Kamo Residences was an absolute pleasure. Check-in was quick, and the place itself is pure luxury—beautiful interiors, a fantastic layout, designer furniture (high-end, solid and comfy). The full kitchen, washer-dryer, and microwave made everything super convenient. Room cleaning 3 times per day, plus bed turnover while we were out for dinner. Beds are high, thick and comfortable, nice support. We asked for harder pillows, no problem. Sheets and bedding silky. Cleanest hotel I have...

"The staff were excellent, professional, and helpful in every way. Everyone spoke to us in English the entire time, which made it so easy to ask for things we needed. The room was big as was the bathroom. The buffet was delicious, especially the French Toast. Our kids were excited to be here. There were plenty of taxis available for us to use, but we also walked to places such as the Imperial Palace and McDonald's."
