"Great location. Lovely hotel steps from Marutamachi subway station. Good hub for buses also. Comfortable walk to sights (Nijo Castle, Kyoto Imperial Palace). Extremely clean. Quiet, spacious room. Wonderful breakfast. (The only alternative for breakfast in the area was MacDonalds; other restaurants opened much later.) Helpful staff. "The Granvia is an excellent hotel if you are coming into Kyoto on the Shinkansen. It is located right in Kyoto Station and is easily walkable to get there with luggage. "Absolutely beautiful hotel. What I love the most is the private onsen in the room. It's in a semi-open space (not in the room, but under a roof kind of in the back balcony). The private onsen refills itself, and temperature regulated. It was amazing. Beautiful scenery, excellent staff, exceptional breakfast."
