"An exceptional stay from start to finish. Gracious hospitality, a true time capsule with updates in all the right places. The japanese breakfast every day was truly memorable, and the coffee shop on the property was beautiful as well. I could not recommend more, 10/10 stay, worth the price! "We had 3 fantastic stays at the Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa. Very service minded staff that took good care of us from arriving to checkout. Room was spacious, nice and comfortable - and the hotel has a small rooftop terrace. Area is quiet and nice, but with a selection of amazing small restaurants close by. We will stay here again when we visit Kyoto. "

"Perfect location in Gion, easy walking distance to convenient bus stops and subway stops, as well as many restaurants/shops. The Shirakawa river was so relaxing to watch. From our room, we could see cranes, turtles and large fish! Excellent decor with art and beautiful lighting, incredibly spacious (3 stories, all with full bath) with nice amenities (coffee/tea, pajamas/robe, umbrellas, laundry!, rooftop deck) and all rooms/floors had separate lockable entry code. I had only minor quibbles...

"We are so happy to have stayed here during our trip to Japan. Our room had traditional Japanese style qualities and the private onsen was amazing. We had a beautiful view of the lake, everything was clean, wonderful service, and delicious fresh food all included in our stay. It was a truly relaxing and luxurious experience. We hope to stay here again!"

"Amazing stay at our first ryokan! The staff is INCREDIBLE. So kind and helpful even though we are only English speakers and their English was limited. They made us feel so welcomed and special. We stayed 2 nights and it was perfect. Dinner the second night made up for dinner the first night :) and the breakfast had many options. We loved our private onsen and traditional Japanese beds. The view of the lake was stunning and the property so peaceful. "

"Great authentic Ryokan. Bus stops were close which made it easy to get around, lots of good restaurants close by with an amazing bakery. The hot bath was a great way to relax after a long day of exploring the city. Would highly reccomend staying here if youre travelling to Kyoto!"
